Blunt Trauma from DOPE INDUSTRIES

E-man & Stathis 'Blunt Trauma' from DOPE INDUSTRIES on Vimeo.

Ok so I had to post this edit because it is an instant classic. If you haven’t heard of D.O.P.E. Industries do some homework. In this edit, DOPE mastermind Brocklebank captures the styles of legends E-man Anderson and young Al Stathis. I remember watching this edit for the first time. That first ollie by E-man into the powder looked so fun, and really makes you want to get to Whistler. This edit  “Blunt Trauma” shows off some real nice skate style snowboarding with E-man popping some hard nollie/fakie 180 variations over some fences, and even gets caught up on a sign and goes flying.  Al Stathis killed the game in this edit with textbook tricks all throughout. Cab 270 through the down-flat-down 270 out, switch front board, and a back tail all like a boss. His switch back 270 blunt to regs was G-code too. Just like E-man’s back nose blunt pretzel to snow explosion. Throughout this whole video E-man and Al back each other up by doing difficult tricks with style one after another, true G’s. At the end of the video they match each other’s tricks on a down rail doing 180 press variations that you could watch for hours.
Brocklebank put together a dope classic with “Blunt Trauma” and continues to save snowboarding with D.O.P.E. Industries edits. The dope crew holds it down and does their thing and doesn’t care what other people think. Hyped for more G footy. Get to whis.

Haunted Hyland from 1817

Haunted Hyland from 1817 on Vimeo.

There are so many good Hyland Hills edits that I could have picked any one to do a review about, I may post another in the future. However I chose this one because Justin Fronius' ender really stood out to me, and I always think about Hyland as this is what snowboarding is all about. Chill skatepark like vibes, with a tow-rope for endless laps is the future of snowboarding. The house of 1817, and make friends dudes, and anyone in Minnesota that gets to ride Hyland or Trollhaugen is super lucky, because they are in the middle of where snowboarding is going, by having a blast (looks like!). Got to get out there this season!

The house of 1817 guys did a really good job with this video, the cartoon visuals in between parts were really cool and kept things fun to watch.
In this edit I was hyped to see Jake OE (tranny king) show off his ninja skills. Boody sending a method deep off an up tube which was sick. Colton Morgan coming through with a steezy tail press hand drag boardslide pretzel. Can never get enough Danimals but I was especially stoked on his frontside 360 at 7:15 that he somehow managed to do without his hat falling off, which was straight G. Also cool to see Tommy Gesme get a couple shots with a really stylish switch hardway 270, and also Louif Paradis came through with a couple dope japan 180’s and some tricks on the rainbow box which he always kills. Justin Fronius got ender for good reason. His line combinations were sick, and all his tricks were done with classic style that makes snowboarding look so fun. The line he did in between the little kids was so good and makes Hyland look like a good place to raise your kids. Fronius’ ender line with backlip on the side of a jump, to front blunt sameway 360 blunt to regs was most excellent and definitely deserved ender. Holding down snowboarding.

Haunted Hyland is an instant Hyland Hills classic and a reason why you gotta check out Hyland Hills Snowboard Park, place looks so fun!

BIRDgang snowboarding at Whistler by FootyFiend

BIRDgang from FootyFIEND.com on Vimeo.

To kick things off with Ratfeed I'm going to post a classic snowboard edit. Arguably one of the best/most stylish edits to drop of all time this is one of my favourite videos, and always gets me hyped on snowboarding. In this edit FootyFiend manages to capture BIRDgang on the slopes of Whistler, Canada and remains as one of the best edits on the internet.

This edit begins with Legend Dave Scott a.k.a. Davoucci Mane truly showing why he does not need to snowboard anymore. Tailgrab tailpress 270 pretzels, and 360 tripod 360 reverts like a boss, shutting down the industry. Followed up by Matt Butel showing the kids how to snowboard with one of the best tree tranny’s of all time. Butel then does the steeziest tail grab boardslide that has still been untouched in snowboarding, like a lot of tricks in this video, like the front board melon poke to fakie that he shows up a skier with that makes snowboarding look way more fun. Davoucci Mane does his tricks with the best stee in the game, like his switch back 270 switch up, and back 270 ons. This video gets heated at 1:23 with an assortment of game changing 270’s that are the best variations of the trick ever put into one video. We see Loosh throwing down the steeziest back 270 boardslide ever which has influenced how I snowboard ever since. At the end of the video Butel puts down one of the best nose bluntslides that solidifies the Bird gang style. Not forgetting Jordwan from Footy Fiend who put together this video with the Yung Joc track “Birds” and continues to put together classic snowboard edits under the Footy Fiend name.

This video is almost 5 years old and is still one of the best snowboard videos on the internet. This Bird Gang snowboard edit is a huge influence to up and coming riders, and proof that having style is way more fun to watch. Bird Gang puts the style in snowboarding.
